Online Short Row Sampler: Introduction to 5 Different Short Row Methods
June 10, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$21.00Short rows are what happen when you turn your knitting and go back in the other direction before finishing a row, or while knitting in rounds. Short rows add extra fabric where the extra rows are made, shaping it without increases, decreases, or bind-offs. They can add a three-dimensional aspect to knitting. Common examples include sock heels and bust darts We’ll start with the most basic garter stitch short rows, then move on to different short row methods vary based on how the holes from the turns are hidden.
In this class, we will make a circular piece of fabric (pattern free with registration), based on the Petal Dishcloth, that can be used as a hot mat or dishcloth, depending on what yarn you use. We will try at least 5 different short row methods, including Wrap & Turn, Japanese, German, Yarn Over, and Shadow Wrap, as we create the wedges of the circle.
